THEY WILL NEVER KILL US ALL

Tracing the Rupture, Blue Mountains Cultural Centre

22 July - 10 Sept 2023.

Tracing the Rupture explores selfhood and the fractured contexts we experience throughout life. By observing and engaging with moments of upheaval and fractured spaces, we generate a new narrative that further informs our futures. Artists: Fiona Davies, Szymon Dorabialski, Maddison Gibbs, Rachael Harrex, Eloise Maree, Judith Martinez Estrada, Juundaal Strang-Yettica, Ali Tayahori, Meng-Yu Yan. Curated by: Hayley Zena Poynton

They will never kill us all was created in the aftermath of a significant socio-political rupture in recent Iranian history, the Woman, life, Freedom movement, and during a time of immense grief, trauma, and despair, where I could see no light for Iran and all humanity. In tracing the rupture, I wanted to honor the innocent victims of the uprising and remind them that even though the movement seems to have lost momentum, we have not forgotten them and their fight for freedom, and we will continue to be their voices.

Woman, Life, Freedom …

They will never kill us all, 2023, Video installation, 4' duration on loop, Hand-cut mirrors, plaster, Aluminium Composite, Water, Salt, Burnt candles. Installation View at Blue Mountain Cultural Centre.
